It's easy to confuse FromSoftware as a first-party Sony studio. You don't just put that much effort into making one of the best games of its generation, if not of all time, in Bloodborne, and not be a part of that console's lineup of owned developers. But, such is the curious case of FromSoftware and Sony. It's not for the lack of trying though, as Sony does have a sizable investment in the makers of Bloodborne and Elden Ring.
Just weeks after increasing its investment into FromSoftware's parent company, Kadokawa, PlayStation Studios head, Hermen Hulst, has revealed that their partnership might yet yield non-gaming products.
Hulst recently told Reuters that while the priority is still video games, a potential TV show or movie based on a FromSoftware property isn't off the table. In this case, fans might finally be getting new Bloodborne material - just not in the medium they'd expected.
