There was a time when fans held their breath every time Ubisoft talked about Skull and Bones.
Unfortunately, that moment has long passed. Ubisoft burned every goodwill that the open-world pirate sim had after constantly delaying it for the better part of the past decade. It also doesn't help that the Assassin's Creed franchise has seen better days. Yet, despite all odds, Ubisoft still plans on seeing Skull and Bones through.
In its latest earnings call, Ubisoft revealed that the Black Flag off-shoot is coming out before April 2023.
As surprising as this development is, there were signs that Ubisoft was inching closer to a full release of Skull and Bones. For example, Ubisoft confirmed in an earlier financial report that it's still working on Skull and Bones.
Meanwhile, back in March, Ubisoft went looking for playtesters, all but suggesting that Skull and Bones is in a playable state. Now, the waiting continues, as Ubisoft still hasn't narrowed down Skull and Bones' release date.
