Grounded is getting an animated TV series with Clone Wars writer in tow

Obsidian Entertainment's Grounded is the next video game getting an animated adaptation.

Deadline broke the news about the upcoming Grounded TV series where it revealed the Star Wars: Clone Wars writer, Brent Friedman, will serve as the showrunner with Halo 4 and 5 cinematics director, Brien Goodrich, on the board as the director.

If you haven't heard of Grounded, you're not alone.

Obsidian Entertainment has a lot of fans in the video game industry, but most will associate the Xbox Game Studios company with games like Fallout: New Vegas and, most recently, The Outer Worlds and its upcoming sequel as well as Avowed.

However, you might have missed out on one of Obsidian's less popular projects, Grounded. The still-in-development game has spent the past two years in Early Access and is scheduled to get a 1.0 release in September.
