E3 2021 might have been more of a miss than a hit in the eyes of most audiences, but you can't deny that some of the biggest upcoming games were dropped at the four-day digital event.
Now that E3 2021 is over, GameStop has revealed its most pre-ordered games. Most of the titles on the list shouldn't come as a surprise given that they've been highly anticipated for years. However, there are a few games that most thought would have definitely made the list, but didn't.
Curious? Be sure to scroll down below and have a look. What Are Gamestop's Top E3 2021 Video Game Pre-Orders? Surprisingly enough, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance made it to GameStop's most pre-ordered games after E3 2021.
To no one's surprise, Nintendo takes up a huge chunk of the GameStop pre-order list. In fact, at least six titles from Nintendo are included in the Top 10, which is a lot. The most pre-ordered of them all is Metroid Dread, which makes sense. Metroid fans haven't exactly gotten their fill of new Metroid content in years. Not to mention, Metroid Dread is the first true sequel in the original Metroid games in over a decade.
Next up is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which makes even more sense considering how it's widely credited as the game that inspired The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its sequel.
Here's a complete list of GameStop's top 10 E3 2021 video game pre-orders and their respective release dates: Metroid Dread - October 8, 2021 The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD - July 16, 2021 Mario Golf: Super Rush - June 25, 2021 Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl - November 19, 2021 Mario Party Superstars - October 29, 2021 Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - October 26, 2021 Far Cry 6 - October 7, 2021 Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance - June 22, 2021 Madden NFL 22 - August 20, 2021 Pokemon Legends: Arceus - January 28, 2022 The biggest surprise on the list has to be Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. Before the game's release last June 22, it was confirmed that the game would also be available on the Xbox Game Pass. Despite this, it seems like the nostalgia was just too strong for Dungeons & Dragons fans to resist pre-ordering themselves a copy of the game.
