Unlike the MCU, which has a smorgasbord of films scheduled for the next few years, the status of the DCEU is in limbo. Two of the film universe's franchise pillars, Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman, are both unsure about whether they would return or not, so fans are wondering what the future of the DCEU could look like. Perhaps because of this, fans are quick to believe every rumor that they can hear.
For example, reports are suggesting that Warner Bros. is planning for Supergirl to take on the mantle, both figuratively and literally, and have a more prominent role in the DCEU.
Is Supergirl's HBO Max TV show confirmed?
Ezra Miller's first solo outing as the DCEU's resident speedster, The Flash, isn't due until November 4, 2022. However, we already know plenty of details about the upcoming DCEU film due to several leaks in the past. For example, we know that both Ben Affleck's Batman and Michael Keaton's Batman are going to make an appearance if not be featured prominently.
