Seth Rollins' name has been part of discussions in recent weeks as we await his big showdown against A.J. Styles at Night of Champions this weekend. The Visionary, as he now goes by, is said to be the frontrunner for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. But, as it turns out, the WWE originally had plans to crown him much earlier.

According to Fightful Select, the idea to have Rollins win a title belt at WrestleMania 39 was on the table. But, ultimately, the WWE decided against splitting Roman Reigns' belt.

This appears to be in line with earlier rumors to have Reigns defend both of his titles separately at WrestleMania 39.

Ultimately, what happened was that The Usos and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens headlined Night 1 of the Showcase of the Immortals with Cody Rhodes losing to Roman Reigns in Night 2.

All's well that ends well though because Reigns is now set to celebrate his 1000th day as WWE's Undisputed Champion on May 27 at Night of Champions with a shot at adding more to his hardware after teaming up with Solo Sikoa.
