Outriders' Worldslayer expansion is coming in June

According to the studio's latest live stream, Worldslayer is a paid expansion and, unlike the base game, it is not coming to Game Pass. The premium content will be available on June 30 and is a massive update in ways that might not stand out at first. For example, Outriders isn't getting a new class or weapon type (at least, not that we know of) come June 30.

The developers focused their attention on building on the game's solid foundation. Worldslayer will introduce the new challenge tiers, Apocalypse, the first 15 of which will be available for everyone. Meanwhile, tiers 15 up to 40 will be exclusive to those who paid for Worldslayer. Naturally, these higher tiers will reward players with better "Apocalypse" items and gear (up to level 75).

All item drops in these Worldslayer-exclusive tiers have a chance to drop as an Apocalypse item, which will come with a third mod slot. To help balance things out, People Can Fly will limit how many times players can swap out the three potential mods, so god-rolled items don't become trivial and still feel rewarding for those willing to grind.

Just when you thought that you had already seen everything in Outriders had to offer, the Worldslayer expansion is coming to tell you that there's more.

On top of everything else, Worldslayer is adding two new Legendary sets and multitudes of Legendary weapons, it will also add PAX class trees and Ascension. PAX are skill trees that players can use to enjoy class-based bonuses using special skill points from the expansion. Meanwhile, the Ascension system will feel familiar to Diablo and Borderlands players. The studio specifically designed this for post-max-level players who want to make minimal but still-meaningful adjustments to their builds.

People Can Fly explains that the Ascension system can take players as much as 360 hours to unlock every node. We doubt that someone will ever get that far playing Worldslayer, but we'd also be glad to be proven wrong.

Finally, Worldslayer is adding several hours' worth of campaign content and new areas, as well as a level-30 boost that anyone can use on any of their characters, including those who are close to endgame levels.

From what we've seen so far with People Can Fly's reveals, Worldslayer is a good example of an expansion that adds "more of the same", which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

For all the negative comments that People Can Fly and Outriders received post-launch, the RPG shooter remains a solid game that delivered on all ends and then some. If Worldslayer can continue to provide the same quality experience while making some improvements, it should make a lot of Outriders players excited to return to Enoch.

Finally, Forspoken is coming out in October, and there's also an interesting listing about Tactics Ogre: Reborn, which many believe is a remaster of the classic Tactics Ogre tactical RPG series.
