The upcoming feature film based on the award-winning video game boasts a who's who of people behind the project. In addition to the Black Adam actor, Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the writers of the Sonic the Hedgehog films, are executive producers. Meanwhile, Hazelight Studios' Josef Fares and Oskar Wolontis are executive producers as well.
According to the initial report, the film adaptation will follow the game's story closely. The plot will revolve around divorcing couple, May and Cody, who are transported into two dolls made by their daughter, Rose. The two must then go on an adventure and work together to get back to their original bodies.
Judging by how emotional It Takes Two was, we can expect a heart-warming movie from Amazon Studios and dj2 Entertainment.
Unfortunately, the report doesn't contain details about when It Takes Two might premiere. We wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being exclusive to streaming platforms with Amazon Studios at the helm.
As for The Rock, the Hollywood superstar isn't making headlines as much lately. However, he's still making moves behind the scenes. Even if The Rock might not star in It Takes Two, the surefire WWE Hall of Famer has tons of projects lined up in the years ahead. For starters, there's Black Adam, which DCEU delayed to October 21. Johnson is also expected to reprise his role in the back-to-back Red Notice sequels. Finally, he's coming back to do a sequel to Jungle Cruise as well.
Also, don't feel too bad that Johnson will not star in an action film based on a video game. There's still a chance that the earlier report isn't about It Takes Two.
