Super Bowl TV ad sees Scrubs crossover with Grease

But what should really excite the audience is seeing a 68-year-old John Travolta sing "Summer Nights" from his beloved 1978 musical film "Grease" with late costar Olivia Newton-John. She might not be around to relive this glorious moment that catapulted their respective careers, but Travolta is joined by Scrubs cast members Zach Braff and Donald Faison.

The trio is teaming up for a big-budget commercial for T-Mobile's 5G home internet service, and they even managed to plug the IPS into the song's lyrics. It might sound like an unlikely trio but their lovable personalities somehow create the perfect mash-up. The 1-minute long promotional content shows John Travolta ranting about how much of a pain it can be to set up home internet when moving into a new home before real-life best friend duo Zach Braff and Donald Faison jump in to tell him about the T-Mobile service.

With Super Bowl Sunday being the biggest day of the year for advertising, it's no wonder that companies are spending so much to catch the audience's attention. However, the opportunity to market your product on a stage of this size is not cheap. The spots for 30-second ad breaks are all sold out despite costing $7 million each. That's a steep increase when compared to the $7,500 it cost to purchase the same slot during the first Super Bowl in 1967.
