Paramount+ has dropped the first trailer of the highly anticipated Yellowstone prequel, 1923, giving fans something to look forward to this December. Introducing Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, Paramount+ released the trailer during the season 5 premiere of Yellowstone earlier this week.
Set to premiere on Paramount+ on December 18, 2022, 1923 is the second spin-off joining the Yellowstone universe following the recently concluded ten-episode prequel, 1883, which is set during the post-Civil War era. The trailer highlights several scenes such as gun fights, brawls, war, violence, and a voice-over narration from an unknown character stating: Violence has always haunted this family. It followed us from the Scottish highlands to the slums of Dublin. And it followed us here. And where it doesn't follow, we hunt it down. We seek it. 1923 will focus on a new generation of the Dutton family during the time of Western Expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression.
1923 is set 100 years before the events in the main Yellowstone series and will follow Jacob Dutton, the head of the Dutton family, and his wife Cara as they manage the Yellowstone ranch during the Prohibition era and a period when the world is still recovering from the First World War and the influenza pandemic.
