Paramount's Cinematic World of Sonic the Hedgehog is expanding later this year with two more entries. The bigger one, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, will hit theaters on December 30. But before this, Paramount+ is treating fans of the blue blur with a spin-off series starring his rival, Knuckles, voiced by none other than Idris Elba.

Knuckles will feature the titular echidna in six episodes that will bridge the gap between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, taking audiences on an action-filled but humorous adventures as Knuckles goes on a journey of self-discovery and mentorship.

The first spin-off in the budding cinematic universe sees Knuckle play the role of a mentor to Wade Whipple, portrayed by Adam Pally, teaching him the ways of the Echidna warrior. This mentorship unfolds in a storyline combining the elements of comedy with action-packed sequences, providing a fresh perspective on the beloved character introduced as Sonic's foe-turned-friend in the second film of the series.

The series boasts an ensemble cast featuring notable guest stars, namely: Stockard Channing Edi Patterson Scott Mescudi Ellie Taylor Julian Barratt Rory McCann Cary Elwes Christopher Lloyd Paul Scheer Rob Huebel. Finally, special guest stars Ben Schwartz and Tika Sumpter are reprising their roles as Sonic the Hedgehog and Maddie, respectively, alongside Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Tails, further enriching the narrative with familiar faces from the Cinematic World of Sonic the Hedgehog.
