Until earlier this year, Goldberg was technically under contract with the WWE, which meant he was contractually obligated not to make any appearances outside of the world's leading wrestling promotion. But, now that his contract with the WWE has expired, Goldberg is free to do whatever he wants. He has since said that he'd love to get the retirement match Vince McMahon had promised him. There's no word yet if the WWE or the AEW has contacted Goldberg. However, Goldberg isn't waiting for either to call to make his first post-WWE appearance.
Goldberg was in Manchester England over the weekend to attend the "For The Love of Wrestling" event. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion attended the event alongside other WCW heavy-hitters like Diamond Dallas Page, Booker T, Kevin Nash, and Paul Wight, among several others.
For The Love of Wrestling is an annual event held in England that's more of a fan convention than an actual wrestling event.
So, yeah, it wasn't like Goldberg was in the UK dropping Spears and Jackhammers on other wrestlers. Still, seeing Goldberg out and about after his exit from the WWE is a good sign. Hopefully, his next non-WWE appearance involves him, at the very least, taking part in a meaningful storyline en route to his retirement match.
