This is how you get Final Fantasy 7 Remake for free

If you head over to the PlayStation Store right now, you can get the Final Fantasy VII REMAKE & REBIRTH Twin Pack - can we call it the "Twin Pack" from here on out? - for $69.99.

For that price, you'll get both games and the InterMISSION DLC for FF7 Remake, which technically means you didn't pay anything to get the first game in the trilogy.

Just make sure that you buy the bundle that has the word "Twin Pack" in it. Otherwise, you might end up paying the same for just FF7 Rebirth.

If you're willing to pay a bit more, the Digital Deluxe Edition of the Twin Pack only costs $89.99 and comes with a couple of freebies.

Of course, neither of these hold a candle to the 19 inches of Sephiroth that you're getting for the FF7 Rebirth Collector's Edition for $349.99 but that doesn't come with FF7 Remake either, at least, based on what's listed on the official website. In any case, if the latest trailers for the FF7 Rebirth have you pumped up and you're looking to get into the FF7 Remake trilogy, the Twin Pack is your best bet to get the most out of your money.

As a bonus, Square Enix has a couple of incentives for those who will play FF7 Rebirth with existing FF7 Remake saves. Your progress may not carry over from the first game, but having Ramuh and Leviathan as Summon Materia as a reward for being a fan of the series isn't half-bad.

Square Enix's financial troubles were recently highlighted by a report. With its upcoming slate filled with sure-fire hits like FF7 Rebirth, Kingdom Hearts 4, the final game in the FF7 Remake trilogy, two DLCs and the PC port of FF16, as well as the rumored remakes of Final Fantasy 9, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy Tactics, this isn't expected to continue.

Fingers crossed, Square Enix doesn't go too all-in on its AAA binge and gives us the occasional indie-like JRPG.
