Embracer Group just left a small glimmer of hope for all the Star Wars fans still holding out hope the PS5-exclusive remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is still in development.

Last week, the CEO of Embracer Group was asked about the status of the KOTOR project but he chose to remain silent. This was in the midst of rumors that Embracer Group had already given up on getting the game out due to still-unnamed issues.

The deafening silence, along with the lack of news regarding the game, led many to believe that the ambitious remake is no longer happening.

Fortunately, we just spotted evidence that Embracer Group is still working on the game.

As per page 11 of its Q4 and full-year report, Embracer Group confirmed that the KOTOR remake is still in development for the PS5 and the PC "as of May 24, 2023."

The KOTOR remake, which has been in development for at least three years, has had a rocky journey so far. After being part of the rumor mill for at least a year, the game was part of the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase, raising the hopes of long-time Star Wars fans.
