Daredevil Season 4 on Disney+ potential leak

Charlie Cox would be the only choice for the role

It would not be until Spider-Man: No Way Home that this would finally be confirmed. In a brief but important scene, Charlie Cox made his proper MCU inclusion as Matt Murdock. Meeting with Peter Parker (Tom Holland), his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), and Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), Murdock served as the legal counsel after Spider-Man's secret identity was exposed to the public.

Cox seamlessly returned to the role of the blind district attorney and an errant brick thrown through the window confirmed that Murdock possessed his heightened senses and martial arts skills. But in an interesting anecdote, Cox shared his experience watching this scene in a theater and was disappointed by the lack of reaction from the audience.

While the actor admitted being saddened by the dry reaction to his cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, he was looking forward to continuing to play the Man Without Fear. Disney Daredevil Soon after his Spider-Man: No Way Home appearance and the announcement that the Marvel Netflix shows would move to Disney+, rumors and speculation began circulating of Daredevil getting another season.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, known insider and scooper Murphy's Multiverse leaked an interesting detail. The site confirms that Marvel Studios recently set up a new limited liability company (LLC) named Blind Faith Productions, LLC.

This may not be an official confirmation, but setting up a new LLC indicates Marvel Studios is preparing for a project that it will oversee through it. However, given the name of this LLC, it seems more than likely this is going to be dedicated for the production of a Daredevil project. The name Blind Faith is a not-so-subtle reference to both Daredevil's blindness as well as his unwavering faith both as a Catholic and as a lawyer.

But the Daredevil fans will be happy that Charlie Cox is dedicated to the role. In a live interview at the Middle East Film and Comic Con 2022 held in Abu Dhabi, the actor was asked how long he would play Daredevil. After the Daredevil panel, Cox bumped into fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe star Barry Keoghan who played Druig in Eternals and is the newest version of The Joker in The Batman. The two actors shared pleasantries and Keoghan shared their selfie together on social media.

There may be caveats with the upcoming Daredevil series, however. Charlie Cox was uncertain that Disney would directly continue what was established in the Netflix series. The show was very serious and featured mature elements, including profanity, nudity, and extremely violent action sequences.

In all likelihood, the Daredevil revival will tone down the mature nature and follow the standard set in previous MCU films and spin-off series. Plus, the established canon from the Netflix episodes will probably be altered to fit the larger MCU continuity, while retaining the fan favorite elements (such as Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, who has already appeared in Hawkeye). Not wearing Ben Affleck's costume If there is one thing that fans can be rest assured of is that Charlie Cox will not be wearing the Daredevil costume worn by Ben Affleck or any of the elements from the first Daredevil movie.

During the same live interview at the Middle East Film and Comic Con 2022, the actor stated he did not see the movie before getting the Netflix Daredevil casting job. He would watch it later on and expressed his appreciation for Ben Affleck's portrayal of Matt Murdock: I hadn't seen it before I got the role. I watched it when I got the role and, to be fair, I think Ben Affleck does a really good Matt Murdock. I like his Matt Murdock. Cox continued sharing his perspective of the 2003 Daredevil movie and what he didn't like about it: I don't love the movie. I feel like the movie tried to do too much and it was a little tonally confused. They had everyone in that movie, they had Kingpin, they had Bullseye, they had Elektra, they had Karen Page, they had Foggy. It was saturated and it's two hours. So that was part of that problem. And the suit sucks! So we will likely not see Cox in the uncomfortable leather jumpsuit that Affleck wore. In retrospect, the Daredevil suit Cox wore at the end of the first season was definitely superior, having a more tactical and maneuverable design.

However, since his own Daredevil costume was lost in Season 3, would this mean he would revert to the black makeshift costume? Or will we see an updated version that fits with the aesthetic of the Disney MCU costumes? Perhaps it will be an homage to the original yellow and red costume from Daredevil's early appearances? We will have to wait and see.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is still running in theaters with an upcoming digital release on April 12, 2022.

Daredevil Seasons 1 to 3 and the rest of the Netflix Marvel shows will begin streaming on Disney+ March 16, 2022.
