Capcom drops next-gen Resident Evil games update out of nowhere

Having said that, the PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrades of the already-excellent Resident Evil games will bring 4K resolution and higher frame caps, among other benefits. PS5 owners, in particular, get the biggest slice of the upgrade pie as they'll enjoy the games better thanks to the PS5's audio prowess. Playing Resident Evil 7, 2, and 3, on the PS5 will make for quite the experience with the audio upgrades making encounters with each of the series' villains all that much more terrifying.

Unfortunately, the latest update to Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7, isn't all good news. PC gamers, in particular, are experiencing issues with mod compatibility and performance. Since most of the complications are isolated to the PC platform, some gamers are hoping that Capcom will give them the option to revert to a previous update. Hopefully, Capcom comes up with a fix soon.

The upgrades to Resident Evil, 2, 3, and 7, are not the only good things to come out of the Capcom Showcase. The Japanese video game publisher also revealed that Winters' Expansion is coming to Resident Evil Village in October, bringing with it a slew of updates to the game like Shadows of Rose, a DLC campaign starring Rose Winters, a third-person mode for the main campaign, and new characters to the Mercenaries Mode.
