In an intriguing Easter egg for observant fans, the highly anticipated sequel by Insomniac Games, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, is in the newly-released animated movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Early in the film, Miles Morales' roommate, Ganke, is seen playing what appears to be the upcoming PS5-exclusive on his console.

The gameplay featured on Ganke's screen shows Peter Parker wearing his Advanced Suit, battling foes on a rooftop. Plenty of viewers also noticed the distinctive robotic arms from Spider-Man 2's September 2021 reveal.

This is a small yet thrilling glimpse into the forthcoming game, which is slated for a Fall 2023 release.

Furthermore, vulture-eyed fans also noticed that the mini-map HUD seen in the movie and one of the earlier TV spots were different from Marvel's Spider-Man, furthering discussions that the footage was indeed from Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Fans have long been waiting for more Marvel's Spider-Man 2 news. The recently concluded PlayStation Showcase satisfied everyone's curiosity about the game if only temporarily. It gave fans a glimpse of an edgy Peter Parker who's become an angrier and moodier version of himself as he bonds more with the symbiote. It's unclear how Miles Morales will make his "mentor" realize that he's being used by the symbiote than the other way around. But, one thing is clear: with both Venom and Kraven the Hunter being featured in the same game, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is going to be a lot bigger than its predecessor.
