Someone sure has earned the right to gloat.

After Bloober Team and Konami teamed up last year, fans were certain that the studio that worked on Layers of Fear had been tapped to lead development on a Silent Hill game. But, the Polish horror game developer denied the rumors, which killed some of the hype. Even so, several fans remained steadfast in their belief.

Now, ardent Silent Hill fans will receive their rewards.

Konami confirmed in its recent Silent Hill showcase that Bloober Team is indeed working on a remake of Silent Hill 2.

Bloober Team worked on two of the best horror games to launch in recent memory: Layers of Fear and The Medium. It's one of the best studios fit to work on a Silent Hill remake outside of Konami and Capcom. Bloober Team will rebuild Silent Hill 2 from the ground up for the PS5 (and PC, later on). But, don't worry, Bloober Team isn't alone - the OG Silent Hill composer, Akira Yamaoka, and artist, Masahiro Ito, are on board and working closely to bring Pyramid Head and co back to life in 4K.
