Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3is coming out in November and it seems like Activision utilized a lot of resources to take it from an expansion to a full premium release.

A total of seven studios were involved in the development of the upcoming Call of Duty installment. Sledgehammer Gamesis taking the lead in the development of Modern Warfare 3 and is being supported by other Activision-owned studios.

The Steam page for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 lists all seven studios involved in the development of the upcoming installment. Many of the previous titles in the Call of Duty series had multiple studios contributing in different capacities. For example, Beenox worked on Rebirth Island for Call of Duty: Warzone while High Moon Studios developed Ashika Island for Warzone 2.0 and Warzone DMZ.

Interestingly, Treyarch Studios was the lead developer for the Ranked Play mode for Modern Warfare 2. The studio may be working on the same feature for the next installment.
