Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was one of the best-selling titles of 2022. However, the title has reportedly lost 82% of its player base just half a year since launch. Now, season 3 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 hopes to win back its player base with its biggest update yet.
Season 2 for the first-person shooter already gave what fans have been asking for with the return of Multiplayer Ranked Mode, as well as several big changes to Warzone 2.0. Infinity Ward also introduced a new map, Ashika Island, for the Resurgence mode.
Season 3 hopes to lure players back by adding Ranked Mode for Battle Royale. Players have been asking for this game mode for a very long time. Hardcore gamers will find hot competition while ranking up and working their way to the top of the global leaderboard.
The new season also adds Pelayo’s Lighthouse as a new 6v6 map for multiplayer. The new arena features lots of fog, rain, and dark places to hide. The map will be hosting some of the 6v6 game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint.
Standby for all the details about Season 03 in the Roadmap tomorrow.

Infinity Ward has also revealed that Gunfight will be returning to Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2. The game mode was originally added in 2019’s Modern Warfare and features fast-paced battles between two teams of one to three players. Players spawn with identical loadouts and the team that wins the most rounds is declared the winner.
The Resurgence Mode is coming to Al Mazrah for Season 3. The game mode was introduced in Season 2 for Ashika Island and will now be playable in the bigger battle royale map. The fan-requested Plunder game mode is also returning mid-season. Plunder bares some resemblance to the standard Warzone Battle Royale but with a different set of rules.
The goal of the game mode is for a team to accumulate 1 million credits in order to win. Players can loot supply boxes, perform contracts and capture cash drops to earn cash rewards. There will be a constant Most Wanted-style system in place for the team with the most amount of cash.
Season 3 will add the FJX Imperium Intervention as a new sniper rifle that is available for both Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0. Players may recognize the sniper rifle as it is a fan-favorite weapon from Modern Warfare 2019. The Intervention can be unlocked via the Season 3 Battle Pass.

The upcoming season will also add two familiar operators, Alejandro and Valeria, from the story campaign of Modern Warfare II. The operators will likely be part of the Battle Pass rewards similar to Ronin from Season 2.
Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 is coming on April 12, 2023.
