GameStop Offers Cheaper Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Alternative

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered already got plenty of flack ahead of its reveal as the info was leaked ahead of time, with Sony also reportedly going to announce a PS5 remaster of Days Gone. Bend Studio's latest title hasn't gotten a remaster yet, but the point remains: what's the point of Sony re-releasing a game that it didn't need to and at a much higher price point?

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered sells for $499.99 on the PlayStation Store, Steam, or Epic Game Store, but those who already bought Horizon Zero Dawn on PlayStation 4 will only need to pay $9.99 to get the upgrade. Sony is at least mitigating some of the backlash by allowing those who got the game for free as part of the Play at Home initiative a few years ago to upgrade at a lower cost. However, doubling the price of a PS4 title for no apparent reason than to prevent a loophole still feels pretty sinister, to be honest.

Thankfully, GameStop has come to the rescue, reminding everyone that it sells pre-owned copes of Horizon Zero Dawn at $10 or less.

So if you're interested in getting Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for $20, all you need to do is head over to your local GameStop and get your copy.

Of course, if you'd been following us all these years already, you'd have secured your copy for free already. But, hey, it is what it is.
