If you're a casual Resident Evil fan, you know the franchise is good for hours of jump scares. But, the more hardcore gamers know that Resident Evil games are short. If you take note of item locations and puzzles, it only takes a few hours to finish a standard Resident Evil game. However, Resident Evil 4 is infamous for its length. It's easily the longest Resident Evil game and usually takes gamers as much as 20 hours to play through the entire campaign.
When you consider that the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 added more meat and length to each game's stories compared to the original versions, there's genuine concern that next year's remake of Resident Evil 4 will make an already long game even longer.
As it turns out, this isn't the case.
According to a PC Gamer interview with Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the Resident Evil 4 remake will be "about the same length" as the PS2 original. The game's producer claims that Capcom is using feedback from the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes.
