Assassin's Creed Mirage will get longer and more difficult in December.

The latest Assassin's Creed title will receive a significant free update next month. This update will introduce two new modes following the base game's return to the series' roots. Although if you ask the critics, they don't have the most positive things to say about Mirage.

Firstly, the New Game+ mode will allow players to revisit the ninth-century Baghdad setting of Mirage with all the skills and tools they have acquired in their initial playthrough. This mode should offer a very much-welcome and refreshed perspective on the game's narrative and missions, allowing for a deeper exploration of the game's mechanics and story with an arsenal of unlocked abilities from the outset.

Moreover, the addition of a permadeath mode presents an intriguing twist to the established formula. This optional and interesting mode, which is available across all difficulty levels, introduces a heightened sense of risk and urgency to the gameplay. In permadeath mode, any fatal mistake could result in the permanent loss of the character, thereby ending the current playthrough. This mode is expected to appeal particularly to expert players seeking a more challenging and intense experience. It aligns well with the technical stealth gameplay of Mirage, potentially transforming each mission into a high-stakes operation where every decision and action could have lasting consequences.
