Four more Ubisoft titles, including Far Cry 6, are coming to Steam

It took Ubisoft only three years to acknowledge that their decision to stop releasing games on Steam was a mistake.

PC gamers will undoubtedly rejoice at the news of Ubisoft's four upcoming game releases on Steam, with the first-person shooter Far Cry 6 being a particularly anticipated addition.

We can expect several Ubisoft games to arrive on Steam in the upcoming months, including:

  • Far Cry 6 - May 11
  • Riders Republic - June 8
  • Rainbow Six Extraction - June 15
  • Monopoly Madness - June 22

In 2019, Ubisoft ceased releasing games its on Steam, citing an "unrealistic" business model that didn't "reflect where the world is today in terms of game distribution." Trials Rising was the last title to be released on Steam before the company transitioned to a dual launch on Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store. Although Ubisoft did not provide any official explanation for its decision to halt Steam releases, it is widely believed that the revenue split was a key factor.

Despite this, Ubisoft made a surprise return to Steam in November of last year, with the release of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Anno 1800, Roller Champions, and Immortals Fenyx Rising. The reasons behind Ubisoft's decision to return to the Valve storefront remain unclear.

Immortals Fenyx Rising tells the story, as narrated by Prometheus to Zeus, of Fenyx, a mortal who in order to rescue Fenyx's brother must stop the evil Typhon after his escape from the underworld.

Speaking of Ubisoft, after years of rumors and speculation, Ubisoft has finally launched its subscription service, Ubisoft+, on Xbox platforms. For a monthly fee of $17.99, subscribers can access over 60 Ubisoft games.

Speaking of Ubisoft, two studios have now combined their efforts for future Far Cry games. Finally, Ubisoft showcased The Division Heartland for the first time since its announcement two years ago.
