Netflix is adding another sport to its stacked trophy case by partnering with the NFL for an upcoming sports docuseries, Quarterback.
As the name suggests, the in-development Netflix show will put the spotlight on three NFL quarterbacks: Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, and the reigning Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes, the star of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Here's what Netflix had to say about Quarterback: For the first time ever, the NFL allowed quarterbacks to be mic'd up for every single game of a season. The upcoming show will feature behind-the-scenes access to some of the biggest moments of the season, as Mahomes set an NFL record for total offense on his way to winning the league and Super Bowl MVP awards; Cousins engineered the greatest comeback in NFL history and led the Minnesota Vikings to an NFC North Division title; and Mariota took over as the starting quarterback in his first season with the Atlanta Falcons. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has only ordered one season but the show could follow different formats if it draws enough eyes to warrant a follow-up.
