A new The Flash trailer debuts during the 2023 Super Bowl, along with a new poster featuring Michael Keaton’s Batman.

Although the Super Bowl LVII has the Eagles facing off against the Chiefs, DC Universe fans have been anticipating The Flash trailer more. After James Gunn’s bombshell reveal of the upcoming DC Studios slate, The Flash is being eyed as the final look at the Snyderverse (aka the DC Extended Universe). But since star Ezra Miller’s unfortunate personal complications, details about The Flash movie have been scarce and sporadic over the past year.
What does the new trailer and poster reveal about The Flash? Check out the details below.
DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn himself shared the new The Flash trailer on his official Twitter account, coinciding with its debut on DC social media channels and during the live Super Bowl.
I love this movie so much. Can’t wait for you all to see it. #TheFlashMovie pic.twitter.com/T893TNA99e

The trailer for The Flash paints a clearer picture of the intertwining plots that will lead to the DC Universe reboot. We finally get a look of Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne/Batman, the Kryptonian invasion led by Zod (with a returning Michael Shannon), Sasha Calle’s Supergirl in action, and Michael Keaton scenes as Batman. There are also new scenes with the other Barry Allen (also played by Ezra Miller), and the two Flashes working together.
Plus, the brand new poster with Michael Keaton’s Batman (from the Tim Burton 1989 movie and the sequel Batman Returns in 1992) depicts the Dark Knight in his updated all-black costume. There are also new posters for both Ezra Miller's Flash and Sasha Calle's Supergirl.

Earlier in the week, the first The Flash poster with Ezra Miller’s titular speedster was revealed to the public. That poster showed Barry Allen/The Flash sporting the new costume and standing on a platform in the Batcave with the tagline "Worlds Collide".
James Gunn has gone on record to say that the DC Universe will restart and the changes will take effect at the end of The Flash movie. The film is loosely based on the DC Comics Flashpoint storyline, which had Barry try to save his mother from dying, but causing a butterfly effect that completely changes reality. At the end of Flashpoint, Barry prevents himself from saving his mother, but also revises reality again. Although it is not as dark as the Flashpoint reality, it is also not the reality Barry originally came from (creating what was called the New 52 DC universe).
The new trailer does seem to be taking elements from Flashpoint, with Sasha Calle’s Supergirl replacing Superman. Keaton’s Batman also replaces the version of Batman in the said storyline (which was Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s father). However, the second Barry does not seem to fit into the Flashpoint story, unless the rumors are true of him being the stand-in for the true villain, Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash.
Produced by DC Studios under Warner Bros. Pictures, The Flash is set to speed into theaters on June 16, 2023.
