The last time Ewan McGregor hit the screens as Obi-Wan Kenobi, the world was in a much different place. In his return, the Star Wars canon has become so much more expansive than before, with Disney investing hundreds of millions to explore relatively "unknown" years. Case in point, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is set to hit streaming platforms on May 27 following an earlier delay.
Set to explore the years following the events of 2005's Revenge of the Sith and the first Star Wars film from 1977, Obi-Wan Kenobi will show events that casual audiences might not be familiar with.
Now, it appears that the upcoming Disney+ show might tie video game canon with current events.
According to McGregor on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the storylines will have to "match up" and "you can't have some fact in a video game that doesn't match up to the movie."
While McGregor did not explicitly name a video game nor state outright if Obi-Wan Kenobi will tie into the events of a Star Wars game, it didn't stop fans from speculating about what McGregor meant.
