Hayden Christensen recently shared his thoughts about what it was like working together with Ewan McGregor again after all these years.

Contrary to popular belief, Hayden Christensen did not go on a long hiatus after starring in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The Canadian actor, who portrayed Anakin Skywalker for three films throughout the 2000s, starred in several other TV shows and films over the years. However, he did go on an acting break for a couple of years following 2019's Canadian sci-fi film, The Last Man.

Now that Christensen is set to make his big return to the Star Wars franchise after nearly two decades, the Jumper actor shared what it took for him to go back.

According to Entertainment Weekly's profile detailing the production history behind Obi-Wan Kenobi, the upcoming Disney+ show's director, Deborah Chow, personally visited Christensen at his Ontario farm to pitch him the idea.

The prequel trilogy star recalls how "very excited" he was to come back after hearing more about Deborah's vision for the project. He added that it felt "very surreal" wearing Vader's costume once more and that he'll remember the moment he saw Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan again as a "for a very, very long time."

One of the main reasons why you haven't seen much of Christensen following his big Star Wars break is by choice. Christensen has elected to work on smaller projects, only coming back to do a big-budget film like Star Wars in 2019's Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker, as a voice cameo at that. Although he did lend his voice for other animated Star Wars projects, Christensen has kept a relatively low profile for the past 15 years or so.

Hayden Christensen is promising a "very powerful" Darth Vader for Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Having said that, Christensen is about to take a step into the limelight once again. As mentioned already, Obi-Wan Kenobi will see both McGregor and Christensen reprise their former roles of Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, respectively. Christensen is also set to make an appearance in Disney+'s upcoming Ahsoka series.

We're curious to find out what the public perception of both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka is going to be. Although both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett have been huge successes so far, they didn't exactly star iconic and mainstream characters from the franchise. In the case of the latter, hype quickly died down after the first couple of episodes before peaking again following the appearances of Din Djarin, Grogu, Ahsoka Tano, Luke Skywalker, and Cad Bane.

We are already hearing fans making their displeasure with the live-action depictions of certain characters in Obi-Wan Kenobi known following the show's latest trailer. We'll know more soon if the mini-series featuring the fugitive Jedi Master is more than just a galaxy-spanning nostalgia trip on May 25.

There's this ongoing theory that despite turning to the Dark Side, Anakin Skywalker ultimately fulfilled his prophesied role in bringing balance to the force.
