Respawn Entertainment could reveal Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 in May

Specifically, a leaker believes that the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel will be officially announced on May 4.

May is a special month for Star Wars fans. Every year, there's almost always a showcase that reveals everything coming that's related to the space-faring franchise. So, it should stand to reason that this year's Star Wars Celebration from May 26 to 29 will be just as memorable.

If anything, Respawn should reveal Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order II on May 4 as opposed to anytime between May 26 to 29.

In addition to Obi-Wan Kenobi hitting Disney+ on May 25, marking the 4th year since Star Wars: A New Hope hit theaters in 1977, rumor has it that Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment are planning something big for gamers on that day.

According to Jeff Grub in his latest GamesBeat Decides podcast, Respawn will be at Star Wars Day later this year to announce Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2.

Technically, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 has already been announced. Electronic Arts confirmed the sequel to the hit 2018 title last year, with am additional statement earlier this year adding that two more Star Wars games are currently in the works at its California-based subsidiary. Meanwhile, Tom Henderson claimed that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen order 2 could come out later this year, which would make a May 4 reveal make sense.

However, unlike Tom, Grubb mentioned that he's not sure if the highly anticipated sequel will come out in late 2022 or early 2023. But, if EA wants to fill its holiday slate with a big AAA title, a Q4 2022 release is best. Either way, if Respawn discloses more Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 information in May, it's a safe bet that we'll get a release window as well.

Grubb's leak comes on the heels of EA canceling its annual EA Play event. As revealed in its statement, EA wants to focus on individual showcases as opposed to one-time events like in previous years. When you consider the cancelation and what Grubb just said about a potential Star Wars Jedi sequel reveal in May, it doesn't take a Jedi Master to tell that the force is strong with this one.

Speaking of Star Wars, Quantic Dream's High Republic-era action-RPG title, Star Wars: Eclipse, is reportedly struggling to hire developers and will be delayed to 2027 as a result. To make matters worse, Quantic's response did not inspire confidence that Eclipse will be here soon. As Quantic explains, it's not possible to delay a game that never got a release date, disappointing fans who were expecting Eclipse to come out in the next two years following its reveal last year.

Fallen Order is widely considered one of the best Star Wars games of all time.
