Grand Theft Auto 5 is getting a re-release for the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X on March 15, much to the chagrin of some fans who see it as Rockstar's way of milking even more money out of GTA 5 for the nth year in a row. But, while most re-releases of games usually cost the same as the full price of a new game, Rockstar is giving Xbox Series S/X and PS5 owners a discount until June 14, with the latter getting a more favorable price cut.
As shared by VGC, screenshots of the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X storefronts confirm that the PS5 version of GTA V will be priced a lot lower. Specifically, PS5 owners with active PS Plus subscriptions can get both GTA V's Story Mode and GTA Online for just $9.99. Meanwhile, Xbox Series S/X owners will have to shell out $19.99 for both the Story Mode and GTA Online, or just $9.99 for the latter.
With a further 50% discount on top of the already halved price of GTA 5 on current-gen consoles, the PS Plus just noticed itself a rare win. Then again, March has been good for Sony so far, with a heavy-hitting lineup of free games for the month and a day one launch on PS Now. On top of this, Sony just held its second State of Play event for the year, which included information on a handful of new and upcoming Square Enix games, among several others.
