Last December, The Pokémon Company announced that the Ash Ketchum-led anime series will end after gracing screens for 25 years. The company also announced that following the character's departure, they will introduce two new characters that will carry the franchise forward.

Now, only a few months after the announcement, the entertainment company has unveiled new details about the upcoming anime series. Arriving only a few hours after the final episodes of the Ash-led Pokémon anime aired in Japan, the new series is titled Pokémon Horizons: The Series and will feature two new characters named Liko, a girl from the Paldean region, and Roy, a boy from the Kanto region.

Liko is accompanied by a Sprigatito while Roy is partnered with a Fuecoco.

Judging by the trailer, the new anime will have a different feel from the former anime series. And while it is under a minute long, it provides insight into some of the earlier episodes of the series. It shows Liko having her first experience of a Pokémon battle, after much convincing, and overcoming her fears. It also teases a secret that is linked to her crystal pendant, which seems somewhat connected to a wild Rayquaza.
