Four years later, The Pokemon Company has finally revealed more about Pokemon Sleep.
We first found out about the in-development mobile app in 2019, after which The Pokemon Company appeared to place it on the back burner. But, as it turns out, the developers were just working on it in silence.
As confirmed at the Pokemon Presents showcase, Pokemon Sleep is a sleep tracker that lets you interact with the Pokemon included in the app by sleeping. The creatures you attract while using the Pokemon Sleep app depend on the type of your sleep: dozing, snoozing, or slumbering. It adds a unique and adorable twist to the usual sleep app formula.
The trailer confirms that Pokemon Sleep will track how long it took for you to doze off.
Sleep apps aren't new to the market, but as Niantic's Pokemon GO proved before, you don't always have to be the first. If you've cycled through different sleep apps in the past, the incentive of seeing cute critters when you fell asleep might make you want to go to slumberland as far as possible. Maybe, just maybe, a solid eight hours of sleep every night is doable for most of us.
At the same Pokemon Presents event, the Pokemon Company confirmed the two-part expansion for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Pokemon Concierge.
