The Bigger, the Better? New Leak Reveals a Gigantic Metropolis in Rocksteady’s Next

Rocksteady Studios has confirmed that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have an always-online feature, even for solo plays.

New leak claims Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League will have a much bigger city than Arkham Knight's Gotham

It feels like Rocksteady Studios’ upcoming game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been on the backburner for a while now, but a new rumor suggests that the developers have not been sitting idly by.

According to a leak on Reddit, which happens to have been verified by the moderators of r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, the city of Metropolis, where the game is set, will be twice the size of Gotham from Arkham Knight. Players will be able to explore this vast city using each character’s unique moves and abilities.

Whether you’re flying around with Deadshot’s gunplay or getting up close and personal with Captain Boomerang’s melee skills, the best part of the game will be the option to play solo or team up with friends for some multiplayer action.

What’s more, the Deluxe Edition of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is rumored to be priced at £99.99. This edition not only lets you play the game three days early but also comes with battle pass points and extra costumes. For those who are a bit more budget-conscious, the Day One Edition will be available for £69.99 and includes the extra costumes.

Other tidbits include real-time weather, a day/night cycle, and a promise of one year of extra content from Rocksteady, including new characters and missions. And for those who like to switch things up, you can seamlessly switch between the four Suicide Squad characters, playing the game just the way you like it.

As for microtransactions or XP systems, the jury’s still out on whether the London-based developer will add these features to the game.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will trace the beginnings of Amanda Waller’s notorious Task Force X, more commonly known as the Suicide Squad. Characters we’ve grown to love (or hate) like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark will all be back in action.

With the main storyline taking place in Metropolis, the game promises an original narrative that pits the Suicide Squad against not just the Justice League but also an alien invasion. To make it worse (or interesting, depending on how you see it), the Suicide Squad members have explosives in their heads that could go off if they step out of line.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be developed using Unreal Engine 4.

The path to bringing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to life has been far from smooth. Fans weren’t exactly thrilled with the gameplay trailer revealed at The Game Awards last year.

As a result, Rocksteady Studios decided to push the game’s release from May 26 of this year to February 2, 2024. A word of caution though: don’t hold out much hope of seeing any drastic changes being implemented.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
