A reliable Call of Duty leaker has revealed that the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022) will include classic Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps.
The leaker, TheGhostofHope, claims that Infinity Ward, the studio behind the Call of Duty franchise, is "planning to release all/almost all Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps together all at once sometime during the post-launch of Modern Warfare II (2022)". He also disclosed that the maps are likely to be released as part of Year 2 content.
Another leak, posted by Twitter user aet0MW2 and reposted by Ghost, appeared to corroborate this claim. The new leak is allegedly an image of the game's Ground War map and is reminiscent of a Modern Warfare 2 (2009) map. Unfortunately, the media has since been disabled by Twitter in response to a report from the copyright holder, presumably Activision. The same fate befell a leak of the title's gameplay which we recently reported.
