As the best Call of Duty players was putting their life's work and reputation on the line for a year's worth of bragging rights to win this year's Call of Duty League, audiences were just as pumped to find out more about Activision Blizzard's marquee shooter. Thankfully, Activision delivered.
Activision unveiled the Call of Duty Next presentation, which is a massive Call of Duty event. This means that fans won't just hear more about Modern Warfare II, but also the other Call of Duty games like Warzone 2 and Warzone Mobile as well as possibly more. Call of Duty: Next will be held on September 15, which is pretty soon. More importantly, it's just a day before the Early Access PlayStation beta starts.
Speaking of, here are the beta dates for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2:
- PlayStation-exclusive Early Access: September 16-17
- PlayStation-exclusive Open Beta: September 18-20
- Xbox & PC Early Access: September 22-23
- Xbox, PC, and PlayStation Open Beta: September 24-26
Sony might be worried that Call of Duty now belongs to Microsoft, but PlayStation owners don't have to worry about losing first dibs on Call of Duty content yet. Microsoft intends to see through all of the existing contracts between Activision and Sony.
Having said that, the hype surrounding Modern Warfare 2 should put a stop to the recent drop in the Call of Duty player base.
