Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is swinging by San Diego Comic-Con

Drawing from the successful showcase at last month's Summer Game Fest and the PlayStation Showcase a few weeks prior, where gameplay footage and the release date were unveiled, the sequel is expected to take a more sinister turn as one of the most iconic Spider-Man villains, Kraven the Hunter, sets his sights on New York City. But it's not just the action that has fans buzzing; it's the narrative. Peter Parker dons his famed black Symbiote suit, bringing a broodier attitude reminiscent of the '90s animated series. It's already known that the Symbiote will eventually leave Peter, leading to the emergence of Venom, which adds to the suspense of the gameplay.

The sequel will continue to shine the spotlight on Peter Parker while incorporating Miles Morales into the action. Players will find themselves in control of both characters throughout the game. From what has been revealed, it seems Miles may play a crucial role in helping Peter rid himself of the Symbiote.

What is most captivating about this upcoming game is its intentional shroud of mystery. Adding to the anticipation, Marvel Snap will also make an appearance, with "exclusive announcements" promised throughout the weekend.

Whispers among the gaming community hint at the possibility of an official Marvel's Spider-Man 2 story trailer premiering at SDCC, before being made available across social media platforms. Even though Insomniac Games previously confirmed that there wouldn't be a PS5 demo before the release date on October 20, fans can't help but wish for a playable demo at the convention.
