Unfortunately, Insomniac Games continues to play coy about when Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be out. Thankfully, this year's Free Comic Book Day will give Spider-Man fans something to keep them busy as they wait for an official release date announcement.

, a prequel for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be released on May 6, Saturday, as part of the annual comic book celebration.

A prequel comic for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be released on Free Comic Book Day, May 6. This comic, written by Christos Cage and illustrated by Ig Guara, will give fans a glimpse into the heroic trio's adventures since the events of Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Here's what Insomniac's narrative director, Jon Paquette, said about the upcoming freebie:
When we initially sat down with the team at Marvel, we explored a few different ideas about what kinds of stories we could tell in a prequel comic. But we kept coming back to the same core premise - What if Peter, Miles, and MJ had to team up against a new Super Villain whose powers they didn't understand? Additionally, we wanted to make sure that we could get a peek into what this heroic trio has been doing since the events of Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Christos Cage, the writer of Marvel's Spider-Man as well as other successful comic books and their adaptations, penned the prequel comic with long-time Spider-Man illustrator, Ig Guara, signing up as the illustrator.
While this isn't exactly a playable DLC, it's a great way to hype Marvel's Spider-Man ahead of the
later this month.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is likely primed as the big holiday release for the PlayStation 5 this year, much like how
was last year. Before then, PS5 owners will be able to play at least two other PS5 exclusives in
