Marvel’s Midnight Suns is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One on May 11

The last-gen console port of Marvel's Midnight Suns adds Storm but 2K Games has confirmed that the Switch port is no longer happening.

This is the last piece of DLC content and post-launch character for Marvel's Midnight Suns.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the surprisingly good tactical role-playing game from last year, is finally headed to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 next week. In addition to this, Firaxis Games will also bring one of the most popular Marvel characters into the game, Storm. Unfortunately, this isn’t all good news as Firaxis has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch version of Marvel’s Midnight Suns is no longer coming.

Firaxis published a blog post containing all of the details about the final DLC pack for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Blood Storm. The update brings the fan-favorite X-Men hero to the fight against the dark as well as the Xbox One and PS4 versions.

Here’s the description of Storm based on the DLC’s launch trailer:

Expand your adventure with Storm in Blood Storm, the fourth and final post-launch DLC for Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Storm can unleash powerful wind and lightning based attacks, bringing with her 10 unique Hero abilities. Plus, enjoy new story missions, a brand new Abbey Upgrade, and some fresh cosmetics for one of the most powerful mutants on the planet!

Firaxis didn’t explain why the Nintendo Switch version of Marvel’s Midnight Suns is canceled outside of saying that it’s “no longer planned.

As for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, buying the Legendary Edition or the Season Pass will give you access to all four DLC packs for the game, which adds Deadpool, Venom, and Morbius, along with the incoming Storm. You’ll be able to use the characters on your first playthrough of Marvel’s Midnight Suns if you buy either the Season Pass or Legendary Edition.

If you finish the story missions for all four DLC characters for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, you’ll be able to fight a mythical monster.

Firaxis Games should reconsider making a sequel to Marvel’s Midnight Suns in the future.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is part of the massive slate of upcoming games based on Marvel comic book heroes. The next one, Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, is set to come out later this year followed by Marvel’s Wolverine in the future. EA Motive is also working on an Iron Man game while Amy Hennig’s team at Skydance New Media is cooking up a Marvel game featuring Captain America and Black Panther that’s set in World War II.

As for the canceled Nintendo Switch version, you can’t help but wonder if it’s because the hybrid console from Nintendo is just unable to keep up. We still haven’t heard a word from the Switch versions of Dying Light 2 and Hogwarts Legacy. At this point, it wouldn’t surprise us if these have been canceled altogether. This, then, begs the question, was Microsoft just bluffing when it expressed its confidence that it could get Call of Duty running on the Switch?
