The late 2000s and early 2010s treated audiences to one of the best video game trilogies of all time with Ken Lavine's BioShock franchise.

Unfortunately, since the release of BioShock Infinite and its multiple expansions back in 2013, 2K Games hasn't posted an update regarding the next game in the franchise - until now.

The official 2K Games Twitter account celebrated BioShock Infinite's 11th anniversary last March 26. When one of the fans asked if a new BioShock game is in development, 2K replied with a "chef" emoji. In case you don't speak Gen Z, this means that 2K is cooking up something.

2K initially confirmed BioShock 4 in 2019 where it claimed that it will be in development "for the next several years."

Given the series' usually ambitious scope, we can expect BioShock 4 to be exclusive to current-gen consoles, or maybe even for the PlayStation 6 if we believe a previous rumor.
