EA Motive confirms Iron Man production and future of Dead Space franchise

Production of Iron Man is already underway, as confirmed by the EA Motive dev team.

The newly released Dead Space remake has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from both critics and players alike. While the game has managed to get both old and new players to try the remake, the question still remains about what the developers have in store regarding this franchise.

It is still not confirmed what the future holds. However, in a recent AMA on Reddit, the developers assured everyone that they will continue to work on the franchise and have some ideas for the future.

EA Motive Studio replied to several community questions asked on the Reddit AMA thread and reiterated that they are still "passionate about the brand" and intend to continue their work on it. However, they also wrote that the Dead Space team will be taking a small break and going on a vacation before the team can "determine what's next."

"We've said both internally and externally that we'd be interested in continuing our work on the Dead Space franchise. Our Core group is passionate about the brand and we need to discuss what's the right next step for us," said the developers.

While we don't know what the developers have in store for the players, we do have some ideas, one of which is the possibility of a suit DLC. One of the users asked the dev team about the possibility of keeping previous suits after upgrading to use them as skin.

For those of you who don't know, upon upgrading, the suit gets a new appearance with each level. There are six levels.

They essentially want to retain the look of their previous upgrade while having the benefits of the next. The developers responded that they're "investigating the possibility. No promises." So, that could be something that they add in the future for more, albeit limited, customization.

Finally, the developers also stated that they have an amazing team that has already started working on Iron Man. Last year, multiple rumors started to surface about an Iron Man game, which was planned for development by EA Motive Studio. Not long after, EA confirmed the rumors and stated that they would be working on a new Iron Man game after releasing Dead Space Remake.

"We have an amazing team at Motive that has started working on Iron Man and you you can rest assured that it's in great hands!" said the developers.

It is a completely different team from the Dead Space team, so the fans who are anxiously waiting for their Iron Man game can find some comfort in knowing that the work on the game has already started and it is in production. In other news, the new job postings suggest that the new Iron Man game could be developed on an Unreal Engine as opposed to EA's proprietary Frostbite Engine.
