Video games have gotten ridiculously bigger in the last few years and have proven to be challenging for titles opting for physical releases. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth was the first game announced for PS5 to release in two Blu-ray discs but it looks like Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will get the distinction of being the first game released with two discs as it launches tomorrow.
Just to give you an idea of how big the upcoming PS5 port of Forbidden West is, a single Blu-ray disc has a storage capacity of up to 100GB. The Complete Edition, which bundles the base game with the Burning Shores DLC, has a total file size of 121 GB. For comparison, Starfield on PC clocks in at 126 GB.
The two-disc symbol can be found on the back part of the box art. The disc for Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will only be required for authentication purposes on the PS5. Players won’t need to switch discs mid-game like in older generation consoles.

Aside from the base game and expansion, Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition includes a lot of bonus content. Here is the complete list of content coming with the Complete Edition:

While the PS5 version is coming this week, PC players will have a long wait ahead. The PC port, developed by Nixxes Software, will be coming in early 2024. The PC version is coming via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Guerilla Games reportedly has a lot of things planned for the Horizon universe. The Sony first-party studio announced in April that it is already working on the Horizon Forbidden West sequel. A new multiplayer game set in the Horizon universe was also revealed in 2022. There are also rumors that a remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn is in development.
Guerilla Games is also working with Netflix to bring a Horizon Zero Dawn TV series to the streaming platform. The project is still early in development and PlayStation says the TV show will use the “same care and formula that we did with The Last of Us. We’re gonna tell the story of the game because we can because it’s a show, we have the time to do it, we’ve got the episodes to be able to do it.”
Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition is coming to PS5 on October 6.
