Hogwarts Legacy - Herbology guide (ingredients, plants, utilities, & more)

First, you need to purchase the seeds from two different stores in Hogsmeade. There are two types of seeds you can plant: Ingredient and Combat Item seeds.

Ingredients seeds are used to grow plants used in brewing different potions. These are used in recipes. Each of these seeds has a pot size requirement. While some seeds can grow in a small pot, others can only grow in a medium or large pot. Some seeds can be grown in all sizes. More on the pots and how to increase their size is discussed below.

You can purchase the ingredient seeds from Magic Neep in Hogsmeade.

Combat seeds are not used in any recipe but rather directly after growing. These plants aid in combat and are used offensively against enemies. There are three main combat plants, each with a different role.

You can purchase the combat item seeds from the Dogweed and Deathcap store in Hogsmeade.

Before you can start placing down the potting tables, you need Moonstone. Moonstone is a special ore needed to conjure the potting tables inside your Room of Requirement. You can find the Moonstone all over the world of Hogwarts. They are especially easily found near mountains and rocky areas. The best place we've found to farm the Moonstone is in the North Hogwarts Region. There are plenty at the base of the mountains (and around the area).

You can also earn the Moonstone passively by purchasing the Material Refiner from the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade for 1,500 Galleons. You can place up to three refiners in your Room of Requirement, and each refiner produces 10 Moonstones every 10 minutes.

So if you have three of them, you can expect 30 Moonstones every 10 minutes.

Next, you must purchase pot spellcraft from the Tomes and Scrolls store in Hogsmeade. You can purchase all sizes of pots from here.

After purchasing the required items, make your way to the Room of Requirement and equip the Conjuring spell. The Conjuring spell is used to build items and place them in your Room of Requirement.

Equip the Conjuring spell and go to the Herbology section. From here, you can select the pots you've purchased and place them in the room.

Once you've placed the potting table, you can plant seeds and wait for them to grow.

The following is a list of all the different tables, the moonstone required to build them, and their cost at the Tomes and Scrolls shop in Hogsmeade. Each table has four variants: Scientific, Botanical, Eclectic, and Gothic.

All the plants you plant take around 10-15 minutes to grow and have a fixed yield they produce. Different plants have different yields. However, you can increase the yield by using a Fertilizer. You can either buy the Fertiziler from the Magic Neep shop in Hogsmeade or produce your own using the Dung Composter.

You can purchase the Dung Composter conjuring spell from the Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade for 1,000 Galleons. It can be conjured for 15 Moonstones. The Dung Composter has four variants: Scientific, Botanical, Eclectic, and Gothic.

The Chopping Station is another useful station that can be utilized in your herbology for long-term usage as it is a passive plant ingredient producer. It will periodically produce ingredients for your

potions

You can purchase the conjuring spell from Tomes and Spells for 1,500 Galleons and conjure it for 20 Moonstones.
