Goldberg makes first post-WWE exit appearance in the UK

According to the reports, the WWE Hall of Famer will appear alongside former WCW Heavyweight Champions in an event in England.

We're pretty sure fans would love to see Goldberg get his retirement match in the WWE.

Until earlier this year, Goldberg was technically under contract with the WWE, which meant he was contractually obligated not to make any appearances outside of the world’s leading wrestling promotion. But, now that his contract with the WWE has expired, Goldberg is free to do whatever he wants. He has since said that he’d love to get the retirement match Vince McMahon had promised him. There’s no word yet if the WWE or the AEW has contacted Goldberg. However, Goldberg isn’t waiting for either to call to make his first post-WWE appearance.

Goldberg was in Manchester England over the weekend to attend the “For The Love of Wrestling” event. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion attended the event alongside other WCW heavy-hitters like Diamond Dallas Page, Booker T, Kevin Nash, and Paul Wight, among several others.

For The Love of Wrestling is an annual event held in England that’s more of a fan convention than an actual wrestling event.

So, yeah, it wasn’t like Goldberg was in the UK dropping Spears and Jackhammers on other wrestlers. Still, seeing Goldberg out and about after his exit from the WWE is a good sign. Hopefully, his next non-WWE appearance involves him, at the very least, taking part in a meaningful storyline en route to his retirement match.

We’re curious why the WWE isn’t giving Goldberg what he wants when he’s a huge draw and a fan-favorite.

Goldberg’s future outside of the WWE is still uncertain. It’s believed that the AEW is interested in signing the 56-year-old WWE legend but nothing concrete has come out of the rumors yet.

However, this hasn’t stopped the current AEW World Champion, MJF, from calling out Goldberg.

With the AEW set to undergo a still-unconfirmed brand split, Tony Khan could bring in Goldberg to feud with MJF so that both brands are equally large draws.
