Hideo Kojima's reputation is built on his seminal work on the Metal Gear franchise. The Metal Gear Solid series, in particular, is widely credited for having changed the entire gaming landscape forever. It's been a little over six years since the last Metal Gear Solid game was released in 2015's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and no we're not counting 2018's Metal Gear Survive. Because of this, fans have been asking for a new installment if not a remake of the older titles. There is an entire community dedicated to looking for clues on when a new Metal Gear game could launch.

With that said, an interesting sighting by a hawk-eyed observer might have just confirmed that a new Metal Gear Solid game is in the works.

Throughout the year, there have been multiple reports of Konami outsourcing some of its biggest franchises to other developers. In fact, in a recent article, we talked about how Konami had partnered with several other studios, including for newer installments and/or remakes of Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Castlevania. Virtuos, in particular, was tapped to work on a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
