On Thursday, January 4, PlayStation published a YouTube video highlighting the titles coming to the PS5 this year. While most of the lineup are titles with confirmed release windows, two games – Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – are yet to have a release date.

The recently released PlayStation video led to speculations that Konami has set an internal release date of 2024 for the aforementioned titles. However, without an official announcement from the company, there is no way to confirm if PlayStation made a mistake or the titles are truly set for release this year.

Gematsu contacted Konami for clarification on the status of the two games. As expected, the Japanese gaming titan remained tight-lipped, refusing to provide further detail. All they had to say to Gematsu was to wait for an official announcement. This is neither an outright denial or confirmation.

Silent Hill 2 is a remake of the original title, released in 2001. Following Konami's official announcement in October 2022, it has become one of the most anticipated titles and the subject of many rumors.

Konami reportedly has another Metal Gear Solid remake in the works.
