Mortal Kombat fans have something to get excited about. The franchise's co-creator, Ed Boon, recently dropped hints that something is coming soon.
The video game community has spent the entire day speculating what Boon could be talking about in a recent tweet.
In the gaming industry, small hints often mean big news is coming. Boon, in particular, has a reputation for cryptic posts and stirring the pot, or so to speak. Also, don't forget that a new installment of Mortal Kombat was confirmed earlier this year with a potential reveal later this month.
Given that Warner Bros. Discovery has had a long-standing relationship with Sony, it would make sense to give the long-rumored PlayStation Showcase first dibs on the official reveal of the next Mortal Kombat.
Rumors about Mortal Kombat 12 (or 1, if you believe the leaks) have circulated for a while, but Boon's suggestive tweet worked as well as pouring gasoline into a raging fire.
