Conan the Barbarian could be headed to Mortal Kombat 12

Mortal Kombat 11 previously featured another iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger character as a playable guest character, the T-800.

Conan the Barbarian is an iconic character that many still remember to this day even though the movie premiered decades ago.

The Marvel Kombat universe, famed for its intense combat and diverse character roster, is rumored for an exciting addition. According to rumors, the iconic character from the world of Conan the Barbarian may join the ranks of the next entry in the legendary gaming franchise.

Conan the Barbarian became widely popular in the 1980s because of the performance of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the eponymous film.

Now, this legendary warrior is rumored to be crossing the boundaries of the universe to enter the deadliest tournament in gaming.

It wouldn't surprise us if the success of Conan the Barbarian in the Mortal Kombat Reboot triggers a resurgence in the character's popularity.

Conan the Barbarian isn't the only character mentioned by Jez Corden as a potential guest character for the next Mortal Kombat entry. Corden previously mentioned that he's heard that Peacemaker and Homelander are coming to the game as well. But, unlike the other two characters, Corden isn't quite sure which version of Conan is coming to the game. It's worth noting that a book version of Conan does exist although we'd be surprised if they didn't go with Schwarzenegger's movie version given his prominence in pop culture.

The Mortal Kombat franchise is one of the most controversial games in history but it's also a cornerstone in the gaming industry. It's known for its brutal combat, complex lore, and memorable characters, as it has constantly pushed the known boundaries of the fighting genre.

Adding Conan the Barbarian to the mix should add an exciting new feature to the game's character dynamics.

Conan's potential arrival in the Mortal Kombat world would mark another significant milestone for the franchise, which has a history of featuring characters from other universes. His distinct look and combat style as well as known raw strength and mastery of weaponry would make him a formidable addition to the game. Not to mention, if they go with the portrayal of the character by Arnold Schwarzenegger, fans will at least see a familiar face.

Previously, another iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger character, the T-800, was also included as part of a post-launch playable character for Mortal Kombat 11, the best-selling entry in the franchise.

The more we hear about the next Mortal Kombat game, the more excited we get about all the possibilities that it could be.

Despite all of this talk about the next Mortal Kombat game, we know little else about it outside of the confirmation by the Warner Bros. Discovery CEO, David Zaslav, earlier this year.

Fingers crossed, we'll hear more about the rumored Mortal Kombat reboot before the month ends, preferably at the still-unannounced PlayStation showcase.
