EA's Battlefield franchise is expanding to the mobile arena. DICE, Criterion Games, and Industrial Toys are working on the newest addition to the popular FPS franchise.

Battlefield Mobile is the most recent addition to the series of shooter games. The new title will feature some of the classic game modes that fans have been accustomed to.

The mobile shooter has started its open beta test phase in selected Southeast Asian countries. The game is available in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore for Android devices. The beta rollout is expected to include other regions as pre-registration has already started in the Google Play Store for the game.

"Battlefield Mobile is free-to-download and will feature its own Battle Passes, collectible cosmetics, and unlockables unique to this mobile game," according to the game's official FAQ.

The new mobile game will not have pay-to-win microtransactions and only feature cosmetic items in the in-game store. "Any items available for purchase are cosmetic only and do not impact or affect gameplay or player performance," states the game's description.
