It looks like Shinji Mikami already has his eyes set on a new project after Ghostwire: Tokyo.
Shinji Mikami is one of the foremost figures in the gaming industry. Mikami's creations have spawned entire genres, which include Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, God Hand, Vanquish, and Okami. Most recently, Mikami founded Tango Gameworks to work on The Evil Within (2014) and The Evil Within 2 (2017), which are throwback titles to the early days of the Resident Evil franchise. But, after his work on Ghostwire: Tokyo, Mikami's next project is unclear and that's if there's any but not for long.
Shinji Mikami recently teased a "remake" with Capcom and PlatinumGames.
Now, before you say that this is an unlikely trio of companies, Mikami has worked with both before. Mikami got his footing in the gaming industry with Capcom before transferring to PlatinumGames to work on Vanquish. But, what's interesting here is that Mikami's Facebook page specifically states that it's a remake with both companies involved but it didn't say if Tango Gameworks is part of the project, which is a studio that Shinji Mikami founded but is now owned by Microsoft via its ZeniMax Media acquisition.
