Cyberpunk 2077 today is no longer the Cyberpunk 2077 you played three years ago. If you got a chance to play it a bit on any platform in late 2020 or for most of the 2021s, we can't help but feel sorry for you. At the time, Cyberpunk 2077 was far from complete, arguably released prematurely to take advantage of a multi-generational release. Three years later, Cyberpunk 2077 has recovered quite nicely to the point that CD Projekt RED is confident enough that new players will buy a re-release for $60.
CD Projekt RED president and join-CEO, Adam Kiciński, revealed this during an investors conference earlier this month, confirming that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive an updated version similar to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition.
Of course, CDPR isn't brazen enough to brand the re-release similar to The Witcher 3 given that Cyberpunk 2077 never won such accolades, which explains the name difference. https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/1803zy7/cyberpunk_2077_ultimate_edition_cover/
CDPR confirmed this with IGN but refused to reveal when exactly the Ultimate Edition will hit the storeshelves. However, now the cover art has leaked on the internet (specifically, Reddit), it feels like it's only a matter of time before it hits the storeshelves.
